Social utility service in Rome
The Antognozzi Foundation helped the development of an educational, formative and cultural initiative at the “Opera N.S. di Fatima” in Villa Troili (Rome). The social utility service for families in the area is still actively supported and funded. The project targets those who live in the vicinity of the "Opera" and are interested or need to use this service. The goal is to meet the needs of the less wealthy, and those in financial difficulties.
Rooms of the Opera building were allocated and prepared for after-school activities, where teachers will be available for assisting students. Areas for play were also designated. This helps working parents that could not otherwise afford other after-school programs in the area.
Further activities of social utility encompassed bythe project include:
- cooking workshops for grownups andchildren;
- sewing workshops;
- computer courses;
- theater workshops;
- painting workshops;
- language courses, especially for English. These were organized for adults and for children, with the collaboration of au pair teachers. Language courses are important in an increasingly multiethnic society, and this offer benefits families that could not otherwise afford expensive private classes.
